The NBA, MLB and NHL have held exhibitions and regular-season games in San Juan, and now the Caribbean city is building a case for a team of its own.
“Within the past five years, San Juan, Puerto Rico, has earned a temporary place on the U.S. professional sports map.
The city was the part-time home of Major League Baseball’s Montreal Expos for two seasons and recently hosted the National Hockey League’s first game in the Caribbean — an exhibition between the Panthers and Rangers.”
