“He was the first Latino comic. There was hardly any Latino comics before that,” he said. “You had Bill Dana, who was coming off as Jose Jimenez in the ’50s and ’60s on ‘The Steve Allen Show,’ but there was really nothing until Freddie Prinze.”"
