“Large-scale colorful paintings by Salt Lake City artists Ruby Chacon and Kim Martinez are on display through Oct. 21 at Universe City, 2556 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Both women examine their Latina heritage through their artwork. The exhibit is scheduled to coincide with the 16th conference of the International Association of Hispanic Women Writers at nearby Weber State University. Universe City is open Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. and by appointment by calling 801-458-8959.

Westminster show: An exhibition of works by the Westminster College Student Artists Guild opens Monday in the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory on the Westminster campus, 1250 E. 1700 South, Salt Lake City. The exhibit can be viewed Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Oct. 22. For more information, call 801-832-2457. “
