“A Hispanic Republican group is denouncing comments made by a leading conservative voice on the issues of immigration and border security.

The Arizona Latino Republican Association denounced statements by state Rep. Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, on Tuesday. Pearce said last week he favored mass deportation of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. and referred to a 1950s-era deportation program called “Operation Wetback.”"
