Knowledge is Power!

“So White and his wife, Tina, came up with a list of translated phrases and words to help him talk to the crew. The list, written on a piece of notebook paper, became known as the “cheat sheet.” Soon Ed’s fellow builders were asking to borrow the list. More phrases and words were added and eventually the Whites realized they had developed a tool that could help people communicate on increasingly bilingual work sites. They turned the cheat sheet into a book called “The Lingo Guide for Builders.”

It’s sold more than 7,500 copies, according to Tina White. The Whites have also written “The Lingo Guide for Landscapers” and said they’re working on more guides for other professions. Both books are available at Borders, Amazon.com and other book outlets. The lingo guides are also sitting on the counters at many local hardware stores, gas stations and meat-and-threes.”
