“While new faces continue to spring up in reggaeton, one of the top-tier stars, Tego Calderon recently released “The Underdog,” his much-anticipated follow-up to his breakthrough “El Abayarde” CD from July 2003 ”” an eternity in the music biz.

Yet even a superstar has to worry when three years have gone by without a new CD. In the interim, new upstarts like Don Omar and Rakim y Ken-Y have out-flashed the new wavers. In a recent interview, Calderon talks about the pressures and the influences on his new CD “The Underdog.”"
