Knowledge is Power!

Popular LATV “Mex 2 The Max” VJ Patricia Lopez has added radio show host to her growing resume. The Los Angeles native joins radio legend Rick Dees on Movin’ 93.9 - formerly country KZLA and now Dees’ new home. Both Dees and co-host Patricia Lopez will lapse into the popular mix of Spanish and English – pioneered by bilingual youth network LATV - whenever the mood strikes during their Monday-through-Friday morning show, which will run from 5AM to 10AM.

Patricia Lopez has been with LATV since 2001, and was the very first talent hired by the network. She has been on LATV since day one (January 2001) and was on the first pilot shows airing on KJLA. She will continue to be one of LATV’s principle on-air hosts and will be seen daily as LATV launches the network nationally in late 2006/early 2007. Lopez, a former Elite model and CBS Evening News entertainment reporter, was chosen, Rick Dees said, because “she’s quick-witted and vivacious in front of the microphone”.

LATV’s “Mex 2 The Max” is a two hour show that features a unique twist on regional music. The program features interviews, in-studio performances, and videos from the stars of the genre like Vicente Fernandez, Thalia, Tigres del Norte, Banda Recodo and Lupillo Rivera, as well as artists that are grabbing elements of regional music and creating pop hits of their own like Paulina Rubio, El Gran Silencio and Café Tacuba. Unlike nearly any other program on television, “Mex 2 The Max” appeals to both Latino youth and their parents.

With its groundbreaking mix of English and Spanish language music and lifestyle programming, LATV has solidified itself as the groundbreaking network among bicultural Latinos in Los Angeles, America’s top Hispanic market. LATV’s content is predominantly in English, targeting bilingual Latino youth. Each week, LATV has a live in-studio audience. Presently, LATV is the only network airing on basic cable in Los Angeles that reaches the highly sought-after bicultural demographic. A favorite of national advertisers, LATV’s sponsors include Verizon, Levi’s, McDonald’s, VW, Target Stores, and many others.
