“In a gubernatorial race that hasn’t been close for some time, Governor Schwarzenegger is still trailing Democratic challenger Phil Angelides in one key category — latino voters. Lately, Schwarzenegger has pulled closer, but a bill he vetoed today may cause him trouble.

As the governor kicked off the annual Hispanic Chamber of Commerce convention today, Latinos voters are showing signs of coming back around to him.

A Public Policy Institute of California poll this week shows one-third would vote for Schwarzenegger. That’s up dramatically from July when his approval numbers in that community hovered around just 12-percent.”
