“A group of immigrant advocates wanted to make a statement by delivering hundreds of worn-out work gloves from immigrant workers to the U.S. senators from Florida. Instead, they got the boot when they tried to go to Sen. Mel Martinez’s office Wednesday afternoon.

The group of about 20 people was led by the Farmworkers Association of Florida and included members of churches, labor unions and civil-rights and Hispanic advocacy organizations calling for the legalization of undocumented immigrants”
