“Lamar University marketing specialist Chris Castillo is known for his easy smile and pleasant demeanor that makes even the shyest of strangers feel at ease. In the face of disaster, Castillo began giving of his time to help others, and in turn, was himself healed. That is why, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, the Lamar University Foundation Inc. will honor Castillo, along with four other recipients, with the 2006 Julie and Ben Rogers Community Service Award. “
