“The University of Central Florida Latino/Latina Caucus, created to support Hispanic faculty, staff and students at the university, will kick off its inaugural year with an informational meeting Thursday, Sept. 28.

The group will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Marketplace on the East Orlando campus. The board of directors will be present to talk to prospective members.

“We lamented that no one had done it before, so we decided to go for it ourselves,” said Cecilia Rodriguez Milanes, an English associate professor and one of the group’s founding members.”
