“The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) will host its 2nd annual Hispanic Heritage Month gala on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of guests, including top Hispanic business and community leaders, are expected to attend the event. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez will serve as this year’s keynote speaker and will also receive CHLI’s Freedom Award. This award is given to those who uphold democratic values both in the United States and abroad. Other important speakers will be Senator Sam Brownback, Representative Henry Cuellar and CHLI Chairman Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart.”
