“As the morning show host for Dallas-based KZZA/106.7 FM “La Casa,” Mauricio Reynoso rides the airwaves into thousands of homes, cars and workplaces across the Metroplex ”” playing the most-requested Tejano beats and throwing in tidbits of news and controversial politics in a mixture of Spanish and English.

Though he says he is “not really a political person,” Reynoso stepped into the political limelight in April and became a chief source of information for North Texas Hispanics fearful about proposed tougher federal immigration laws. Despite numerous death threats, he has continued to inform his listeners about the immigration issue and their right to vote, with the Mega Voto movement, through which area Hispanic leaders hope to sign up new Latino voters to increase their clout in the November state and national elections.”
