“The sidewalks of Little Village were washed with color as families dressed in green, red, and white filled 26th St. for the annual celebration of Mexican Independence Day.

The parade began at 12 p.m. on Albany and stretched along 26th Street to Kostner Avenue. Hoisting flags bearing the colors of the Mexican flag and chanting along with the parade floats, thousands of diverse spectators ranging from seniors to college students lined the parade route, bearing the cool weather and rain in jackets, sweaters and t-shirts.”
