Classes and seminars exist to help Latina business owners succeed, but there is no current ongoing form of support to keep Latina business owners focused, motivated, and in contact with up to the minute business building tools

“As businesses owned by Hispanic women continue to increase at a rate greater than the national average, Latina business owner Nancy Marmolejo is leading the way in serving this growing market while building a successful business of her own. Nancy’s efforts are being honored this week at the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 27th Annual Convention in Philadelphia where she will be one of 10 recipients of the Anna Maria Arias Memorial Business Fund Award, sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank and Latina Style Magazine. Awardees are selected for business innovation and success, as well as service to the community.

Women owned businesses continue to grow at a rate higher than the national average. Subsets of this trend show that Latina owned businesses have taken off greatly in recent years. According to The Center for Women’s Business Research, between 1997 and 2004 firms owned by Hispanic women increased by a staggering 63.9%. The need to help Latina business owners is imperative to support their success as entrepreneurs”
