“Chicago-based Lápiz next week will launch Punta, an 82-page in-house magazine to showcase the agency’s creativity and philosophy. “The magazine is like a white canvas in which [Lápiz staffers] can find a channel of expression,” says Laurence Klinger, svp and chief creative officer, who helms the editorial project. But Punta, says Klinger, is not about advertising but a sort of laboratory of new ideas and techniques. “It doesn’t mean that anything goes. There is a criteria and an editorial board that selects the content, but it is open to [outside] contributors.”
