Knowledge is Power!

“The number of registered voters in Guilford County identified as Hispanic has more than quadrupled since January 2004. But, right now, that fact is practically meaningless.

While North Carolina’s Hispanic population is growing rapidly, the increase isn’t reflected in political influence. As of Sept. 9, only 1,310 of Guilford County’s 304,448 registered voters — less than half of 1 percent — were listed as Hispanic. The jump from 313 in 2004 hardly makes a statistical blip.

The numbers reveal little because before 2002 the state didn’t keep track of Hispanic voters.”
