“U.S. Secretary of the Department of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez will be the keynote speaker at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s fifth annual Alumni Hall of Fame. Gutierrez will speak at a gala event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 13, 2006 that will honor five extraordinary Hispanic professionals. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and the awards at 7:30 p.m.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), the nation’s leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education, aims to inspire future generations of Latino college graduates by honoring five Latinos who have excelled in their fields. The inspiring stories, accomplishments, contributions and lifetime challenges of these inductees demonstrate the power of higher education and mentorship and personify the mission and values of HSF. Four of the honorees are former recipients of HSF scholarships and the fifth is an exceptional Hispanic leader who has a record of phenomenal accomplishments while overcoming obstacles. “
