“Alicia Owen has helped set cultural change into motion on campus, and now that change could make history.

Toward the end of last semester, she, along with about a dozen other women, started the process to begin a UA chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma, the largest Latina-based multicultural sorority in the country.

And should they become an official sorority, their chapter will be the first Hispanic sorority in the state of Alabama.”
