“Representatives from Fort Wayne’s Hispanic groups have combined to conduct a voter registration drive this month in the hope that Hispanics will make their voices heard during a crucial debate over immigration.

Because immigration is such a hot topic for politicians now, Hispanics need to vote and let people know how they feel about the recent bills passed by Congress, said Max Montesino, president of the Hispanic Leadership Coalition of Northeast Indiana. The House of Representatives passed a bill in December that focuses on border enforcement and omits a guest-worker program and a legalization process for illegal immigrants.”
