The Cambio Center at the University of Missouri, Crowder College, the Ozark Regional Alliance, University of Missouri Extension, and the “Salud para la Vida” program of Missouri State University, along with volunteers of other institutions, are organizing a one-day Cambio de Colores (Change of Colors) workshop, aimed at improving the fast-changing communities in the Southwest region of the state.
The Cambio de Colores conferences and, now, workshops, have the goal of contributing to the smooth and lasting integration of the new population and long-time residents, for the benefit of all community members, especially the future generations.
Basic information about this Workshop:
The program includes presentations about: how to understand and benefit from the changing demographics of the region; how to facilitate the integration of second and third-generation youth of different cultures; best practices for medical interpretation; prevention of diabetes and heart disease in newcomers; legal issues related to employment verification process; the innovative experience of nearby Pittsburg, Kansas, to integrate newcomers and long-time residents; and a closing roundtable to discuss the topics of those presentations.

- Cost is $50 per participant, and it includes access to all sessions, as well as breakfast, luncheon, and breaks. Space is limited. Please registerearly!
