Financial Education Forums Targeted to Latino Consumers, Business Owners in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“Pennsylvania is teaming with the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to help Latino consumers and business owners better understand insurance and banking issues.

“We are conducting education forums to help business owners as well as consumers better understand and take full advantage of opportunities to build financial security,” acting Banking Secretary Victoria A. Reider said.

The forums, organized at the direction of Governor Edward G. Rendell, will include a discussion of the roles of the Banking and Insurance departments, a brief overview of their respective industries, and an explanation of the importance of having insurance and the benefits of having an account with a financial institution. Representatives of both departments also will answer questions.”
