And as they wait, their disparate views underscore the great diversity of the exile community and how opinions may vary according to when the exiles fled Cuba and why.

“Before the announcement, everything was dormant. The situation was still,” said Marcelino Miyares, president of the Christian Democratic Party of Cuba. “The change has loosened all of the opinions.”"
