The circumstances of Trigo Figueroa’s death are still unclear, and no arrests have been made.
“Those who knew Trigo Figueroa said the 27-year-old Irvine resident died trying to protect his superstar father.
Figueroa, the son of iconic Latin singer Joan Sebastian, was gunned down after his father’s concert Saturday night in Mission, Texas. Family members today are flying his body to a family ranch outside Guerrero, Mexico.
“He was always by his father’s side for anything and everything,” said Monica Gomez of Lake Forest, who attended Irvine High School with Figueroa.”
