“”Migrant students, we’re afraid sometimes to speak up. We’ll think the other students who are fluent are always right,” Acevedo said.

Several migrant students shared their educational experiences with the state board, hoping to provide insight and suggestions on how education policy and educators can better serve the estimated 55,000 Spanish-speaking students learning English in the state.”
