“No one keeps a count of Hispanic-owned businesses in the Delavan area, but the evidence suggests their number is growing. A report released in March from the U.S. Census Bureau said the number of Hispanic-owned businesses grew at three times the national rate for all companies between 1997 and 2002. In Wisconsin, Hispanics owned 3,750 businesses in 2002, a 24 percent increase from 1997, the bureau reported.”
