The suit seeks unspecified “damages against Hazleton” for violating plaintiffs’ rights and for the court to order the city to pay plaintiffs’ legal expenses.

“As expected, a lawsuit has been filed against the city for its Illegal Immigration Relief Act. The 42-page lawsuit was filed by a group of attorneys in federal court in Scranton. It names Pedro Lozano, Humberto Hernandez, Rosa Lechuga, Brenda Lee Mieles, Casa Dominica, the Hazleton Hispanic Business Association, the Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition and several John and Jane Does as plaintiffs.
The city is the defendant.”
