“South Texas Democrats have chosen Solomon Ortiz Jr. as their candidate to fill the Texas House seat vacated by former Democratic Rep. Vilma Luna.
Ortiz, the son of U.S. Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz, D-Corpus Christi, will replace Luna on the November ballot for the District 33 House seat. The district’s Republicans were expected to select a candidate on Tuesday.”
