And while the country is in the grips of one of the most significant chapters in American history regarding the fate of 12 million people illegally here, there is little hope that most students in our nation’s schools are going to learn much of anything about these people’s backgrounds and what is spurring their vision in seeing the U.S. as their Promised Land.”
