Just an fyi: This site deals with more than just the news. It has received 45,743 comment spam for 14,225 posts
And that is a ratio of roughly 3 to 1 and that is only for the last 6 months or so! That is why at times I shut down the comments. It becomes a strain on the server and a major annoyance. Mind you this is just comment spam, I couldn’t even begin to count how much e-mail spam I get.
