“Back in April I wrote four points that the opposition would have to meet in order to have a chance of winning the Venezuelan presidency. By agreeing to support Manuel Rosales as the unity candidate, they’ve managed to fulfill about one and a half of the original four points.
Can Chavez be beat? The answer is still unlikely, but yes. The mistakes of the opposition over the last four months have been balanced by the mistakes of the president. Now it’s a whole new race with a unity opposition candidate.”
