“More Spanish-speaking deputies and support staff are needed in the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, an independent assessment team has concluded.
In a report Sheriff Ken Irwin released Tuesday, the team said the shortage of bilingual staff and difficulties in timely follow-up on crime reports are impeding efforts to further develop a community-oriented policing system in Yakima County.”
