“McAllen artist Raquel Hinojosa created heart-shaped paper-maché sculptures especially for an exhibit at the Brownsville Heritage Complex.

“Hecho a Mano: A Heartfelt Tradition” will open with a reception on Thursday, Aug 10 to commemorate Hispanic Heri-tage Month.

No one would guess the bright blood red and deep-purple and copper heart sculptures were made out of newspaper and junk mail found lying around Hinojosa’s home.”
