Knowledge is Power!
“US Census estimates released on August 3 showed that more Hispanics are settling in Genesee County, home to Flint MI and the remnants of a once powerful automotive manufacturing complex. Hispanics grew by 669 people – 6.2 percent – between the years 2000 and 2005, according to the Census Bureau report.
The growth in the local Hispanic population is evidenced by the numbers of monolingual Spanish-speakers attending Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in suburban Mt. Morris, as well as the growth in the congregations of two Protestant churches that hold Spanish and/or bilingual services. “
