“Two years after they were first used in Washoe County, bilingual ballots are still drawing criticism from some voters in Nevada’s second most populous county.
Registrar of Voters Dan Burk said he has received complaints from about two dozen angry residents because sample ballots for the Aug. 15 primary election were printed in both English and Spanish.
The ballots must be printed in two languages to comply with federal election laws that require bilingual ballots if a certain minority group accounts for at least 20 percent of a county’s population, Burk said.”
