“Educators need to build a connection between families and schools in order to curb the high Latino dropout rate, an Aurora University graduate student told East Aurora school officials and representatives of community organizations this week.
Masters of Social Work student Bridget LeSure suggested that school officials make more personal contact, pay home visits when necessary, send bilingual letters, host school fairs and other on-campus activities, and offer prizes and incentives to parents who show up at school events or respond quickly to letters home.”
