“The Hispanic population in Iowa has grown by more than 26,000 since the last official census, according to estimates to be released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Iowa’s overall state population as of July 1, 2005, is estimated at 2,966,334.
Among that group, 108,968 people identify themselves as Hispanic or Latino, up from 82,473 in 2000, the census estimates. That’s up 32 percent.”
