“Live music, food, dancing, colorful costumes and the sights and sounds of Dominican culture will envelope Roger Williams Park on Sunday at the 19th annual Dominican festival.

The daylong event, hosted by Quisqueya in Action, has traditionally drawn thousands of participants from throughout New England and beyond. This year, organizers invited other local cultural organizations to participate, said Janet Pichardo, an event coordinator.

The celebration will begin with a parade at 10 a.m. at Thurbers Avenue and Broad Street. The floats will represent various countries, Latino organizations and folk dancers. Parade participants are asked to arrive by 9 a.m. so the parade order can be established.”
