Mushroom workers find trouble in relocating in Delaware

Tagged: ,

“Hispanic immigrants at the center of a zoning dispute in New Garden Township, Pa., are having trouble finding affordable housing as eviction from their trailer park looms, said a social worker helping them.

Two families have moved out of the park on Ellicott Road, said Aida Garcia, director of social services for La Comunidad Hispana in Kennett Square, Pa. But she knew of no other families living in the 12 trailers on the property that have firm plans to relocate.

One family with at least a dozen people in one of the trailers was eyeing a home in the pricey Chester County housing market, but it was rented before they could sign a lease, Garcia said.”
