A Call for Playwrights! New York

“Pregones Theater is now accepting scripts for its annual Asunción Playwrights Project Competition.

Pregones Theater’s Asunción Playwrights Project showcases the work of Latino playwrights exploring issues of difference and transformation at the limits of queer identity. The project especially seeks works that challenge assumptions about gender and sexuality.

Asunción organizes three to four public readings of plays each season at Pregones’ La Casa Blanca. This is an intimate setting where the readings are followed by an open discussion between the playwright, audience members and artists. The plays are selected by Pregones’ Artistic Directors from works submitted to the company.”
