Two Latinas among those eyeing council run in Escondido, California
Tagged: Escondido“With at least one new face guaranteed to take a spot on the City Council dais come November, the possibility is shaping up for that face to be considerably younger than any of the current members, and possibly Latina.
Of the three community members who took out candidacy papers with the city clerk this week, all are under 40 and two are Latinas.
Olga Diaz, 30, has owned and operated Blue Mug Coffee and Tea in Escondido for the last four years. Carmen Miranda, a homemaker and former pharmacy technician, is 37 years old. And Erik Richard, president of Citizens Development Corp., which manages Lake San Marcos Resort, is 29.”
