Knowledge is Power!

“Although the University offers courses on Spanish literature and culture, Purdue is the only Big Ten school without a Latino studies program.

Paul Dixon, head of the foreign language and literatures department, said the University has both African American and women’s studies programs, but has never offered a major or minor focused on Latino culture.

“Most of the Latino studies classes here are interdisciplinary; they’re going to include some history courses, some political courses and probably some foreign language courses,” he said. “There are a lot of courses offered here, but there is not an academic major.”"
