“Tulsa’s chief law enforcement agencies have conflicting philosophies over dealing with illegal immigrants.
The Tulsa Police Department intends to continue its hands-off approach, while the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office wants to tackle enforcement head-on.
“Right now we don’t have an immigration office in Tulsa, and in Oklahoma ICE (U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement) is stretched pretty thin,” said Tulsa County Undersheriff Brian Edwards. “There’s not many of them and there are 200 deputies.”"
