“Four out of five California voters say they support allowing illegal immigrants already in the United States an opportunity to stay. At the same time, a vast majority also wants to increase the number of federal border agents patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a statewide poll released Thursday.

The poll by the nonpartisan Field Institute, conducted this month for The Press-Enterprise and other California media subscribers, shows that 63 percent of those surveyed disapprove of the way President Bush is handling the nation’s illegal immigration problem.”
