Hispanic fest faces waning support in Holyoke, Massachusetts

“With the popular Grupo Karis from Puerto Rico performing, rain or no rain, last night’s leg of the 20th annual Hispanic Family Festival promised to be a success.

For festival organizer Diosdado Lopez, big names in music are the only ways to keep Springdale Park, where the festival is staged, filled with people.

“Karis is a group from Salinas, Puerto Rico, which is the hometown of many Puerto Ricans living in Western Massachusetts, and they will come out,” said Lopez.”
