Former torture center now houses Chilean art museum in Santiago, Chile

“It’s hard to tell that this two-story white house in the Chilean capital was once a secret police station where security forces tortured dissidents under the 17-year military dictatorship of Gen. Augusto Pinochet.

The building is now the country’s newest art museum, with the secrets of Chile’s dark past replaced by vibrant works from modernist masters such as Joan Miro, Frank Stella, Alexander Calder and Chile’s own Roberto Matta.”
