Indio may host Hispanic film fest. California

“The International Hispanic Film Festival could come to Indio.

Al Vasquez, the festival’s chairman and co-founder, said he wants to bring the festival to the Twisters building at 45-175 Fargo St. The facility is dormant now but will be renovated in coming months.

Vasquez said he will continue to hold the event in other cities throughout the Western Hemisphere each year in addition to showing it in Indio.

“I think that’s an ideal location,” he said. “(Indio’s) where a large concentration of Hispanics are.”"
