“More than 50 years after Cesar Chavez organized for civil rights, and 40 years after San Jose State University students demanded a Mexican American studies program, South Bay Latinos have found places in the highest echelons of political, corporate and civic affairs.
But many feel the community has become fragmented in the process.
As a result, eight local leaders decided to come together and — after a year of planning — launched the Latino Leadership Alliance, a group with a mission to unite the community.”
