Televisa still selling stake in network

“Mexico’s Grupo Televisa remains on course to sell its 11 percent stake in Univisión and enter the U.S. Hispanic media market on its own, but has not ruled out making a second bid to buy the Los Angeles-based company, a top executive said Tuesday.

”At present there is no change in Televisa’s plans,” said Executive Vice President Alfonso de Angoitia during a conference call with analysts. “We are not interested in participating or rolling over that stake under the terms of the current agreement.”

He stopped short of saying whether Televisa is in active discussions with the winning group of private equity firms that is set to buy Univisión for $12.6 billion. Nor would he detail the changes in the agreement that Televisa would require to join the consortium.”
