Latinos and the future of the U.S.

“The Hispanic population in the U.S. just keeps on growing. Last week, the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute reported that Hispanics now outnumber African Americans and Asian Americans in 26 states.

Only the country of Mexico has a larger Hispanic population. With this growth come positive and negative implications. Hispanics are moving to places throughout the U.S. to take advantage of job opportunities, live in good quality housing, buy their own homes and experience a better quality of life. Family members and friends follow each other to new regions of the country and new Latino communities spring up. Cities, towns and neighborhoods that had lost population and business have been revitalized by the influx of Hispanics.”
